Southern Ga Comm. to meet June 26
The Southern Georgia Regional Commission Council will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 26, at the SGRC Valdosta Office, 1937 Carlton Adams Drive, Valdosta.
An executive committee meeting will be held before the council meeting, beginning at 10 a.m. Both meetings are open to the public.
Red Cross to hold blood drive July 8
The Red Cross will hold a blood drive from 1-6 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, at the Blackshear First United Methodist Church, 225 Church Street, Blackshear.
While all blood types are needed, donors with type O blood are most urgently needed.

Birthing Center Tour July 20
Memorial Satilla Health provides tours of its stateof- the-art labor and delivery unit from 5-7 p.m. at 1900 Tebeau Street Waycross on dates throughout the year.
The 2025 Birthing Center tours are scheduled for July 20, August 2, September 8, October 16 and November 4.
Maternity classes set for July and Sept.
Memorial Satilla will have maternity classes to help families prepare for childbirth and life after a new baby arrives.
The class includes a tour of Memorial Satilla’s stateof- the art Birthing Center at 1900 Tebeau Street Waycross.
Maternity Classes are held monthly in the Birthing Center Conference Room (third floor) July 14 and September 15.
912 Diabetes group meets first Tuesdays Memorial Satilla Health has teamed up with the Talki Foundation to offer a new monthly support group for people with diabetes and their caregivers in Ware County and surrounding areas.
The 912 Diabetes Initiative will meet the first Tuesday of every month in the Community Room at the Railway Express Agency (REA) in downtown Waycross, located at 315 Plant Ave. The kick-off meeting will be held 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 5.
These monthly meetings will provide valuable educational resources and a chance to connect with others. The Talki Foundation will host expert guest speakers who will present on various topics related to healthy living and managing diabetes.
AmVets meet monthly The C.C. Stephens Amvets Post 621 will meet the second Saturday of each month at the post on Ossie Davis Parkway in Waycross. Amvets is open to retired veterans in the area.
