Kimberly Jean Dixon Godfrey

Kimberly Jean Dixon Godfrey, 64, of Middleburg, Florida, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 18, 2025.  

Born August 24, 1960, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, she brought warmth, laughter, and compassion into every life she touched. A graduate of South Plantation High School, Class of 1978, she went on to earn her registered nursing (RN) degree in 1983. Her passion for caregiving and dedication to her patients led her to further her education, later earning her bachelor’s degree in nursing. Her lifelong commitment to nursing wasn’t just a career— it was her true calling. She was known for her unwavering care, empathy and professionalism in every role she held. 

She was also a devoted Nana who adored her grandchildren and took great pride in being part of their lives. 

Survivors include her loving parents, Jake and Voncille Dixon, Blackshear; her two sisters, Tina Dixon Shears, Blackshear, Georgia and Terry Dixon Ross, Alpharetta; her three children: Michael Godfrey and his wife Carrie, Orange Park, FL, Daniel Godfrey, Orange Park, FL and Diana Sanjines and her husband Marcelo, St. Augustine, Florida; her four beloved grandchildren: Abbie and Caleb Godfrey and Tobias and Felix Sanjines. 

She was preceded in death by her infant sister, Patricia Gail Dixon, who passed away January 8, 1967. 

A viewing to honor her life will be held from 2-3 p.m. Friday, June 27, at the Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL. 

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, June 27, from the Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home. 

All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Kim’s memory by showing kindness to others and taking time to care for those in need—just as she always did. 

Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home of Orange Park, FL, is in charge of arrangements.
