***** To our community: Come join the celebration for Juneteenth this Thursday, June 19. There will be events happening around the tri-county area. There will be an event here in Blackshear June 21. ***** Pierce County Concerned Citizens will present a Juneteenth celebration from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, June 21, at Lee Street Resource Center, 623 Sycamore Street, Blackshear.
There will be various speakers, music, food and fun for all.

It’s hot and raining every day! ***** Session Hill Community Center will have bingo from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, June 28. The event will be at the center, 3105 Allen Avenue, Blackshear.
Tickets are $20 at the door (10 rounds). Door prizes will be given away. The church is located at 626 Cherry Street in Blackshear. Pastor is Evenly Taylor.
Sunday School teachers will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, at Greater St. James AME church. ***** Pierce County NAACP Chapter 5227B still needs more members to join to restore the organization. It only costs $30 a year to join. Let’s work together.
