Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College

Four Pierce County residents were among the 299 students who graduated from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton at the end of the 2025 spring semester.

They include: Taylor Danielle Corbitt, Melissa Ann Durham and Arianna Harrison, all of Blackshear, associate of science in nursing and Anna Claire Long, Blackshear, bachelor of science in business. ***** Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton has announced is academic honors for spring semester.

Emily Stovall of Blackshear was named to the president’s list.

The president’s honor list is the highest academic honor possible for ABAC students. Each student on the list attained an “A” in every subject, resulting in a perfect 4.0 grade point average. The students had to carry a minimum of 12 hours of academic work.

Addisyn Hill of Mershon was named to the dean’s list.

Students who qualified for the dean’s honor list attained a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and carried at least 12 hours of academic work.

Georgia State University

Several local students have been recognized for academic honors for spring 2025 at Georgia State University in Atlanta.

Kenan Grant of Blackshear was recently named to the president’s list.

To be eligible for the President's List, degree-seeking students must have earned a GPA of at least 4.0 for a minimum of nine semester hours of academic credit taken at Georgia State during the fall or spring term with no incompletes for the semester.

John Cason and Makayla St. Val, both of Blackshear were named to the dean’s list.

To be eligible for the dean’s list, degreeseeking students must have earned a GPA of at least 3.5 for a minimum of nine semester hours of academic credit taken at Georgia State during the fall or spring term with no incompletes for the semester. Eligible students must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 for all classes taken at Georgia State.

Georgia Southwestern University Two Pierce County residents were recognized for academic achievement at Georgia Southwestern University in Americus for spring semester 2025.

Benjamin Crews of Blackshear made the president's list.

To be eligible for the president’s list, a student must earn a semester GPA of 4.0 and take a minimum of 12 credit hours.

Katherine Denison of Patterson made the academic achievement list.

To be eligible for the academic achievement list, a student must previously earn at least 12 credit hours at GSW, be enrolled in 3 to 11 hours of courses, and earn a 3.5 or higher GPA.

Crews and Denison were among 885 students recognized for scholastic achievement.

Coastal Pines Technical College Levi Crews of Pierce County is a recent graduate of the Adult Education Program at Coastal Pines Technical College.
