Clayton ‘Warren’ Cribbs

HORTENSE — Clayton “Warren” Cribbs, 66 of Hortense, passed away Monday, June 9, 2025 at his residence following an extended illness.

Born in St. Mary’s, Cribbs’ parents were Elmer Cribbs and Minnie Taylor Cribbs. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, George Cribbs, Michael Cribbs and Ben Hill; and four sisters, Patricia Rooks, Gail Cribbs, Louise Hill and Marie Hill.

Cribbs worked many years as a mechanic. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, loved his animals and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his life partner, Helen Anderson of Hortense; and her children, Christie Anderson, Cathy Anderson and Joseph Anderson; also several nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service was held Thursday, June 12, 2025 at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Shawn Knudson and Mr. Timmy Hill officiating.

Burial followed in Mt. Olive Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ricky Hill, William Slaughter, Matthew Slaughter, Ralph Rooks, Jr., Frank Cribbs, Eugene Rooks, Terrence Rooks and Allen Rooks, III.

Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
