BRUNSWICK — Mary Herring Mason, age 90, peacefully transitioned June 7, 2025, at Hospice of the Golden Isles with family by her side.
Born May 4, 1935, to the late Ruby Smith Herring and Daniel Corbitt Herring, Sr., Mrs. Mason was a native and lifelong resident of Brunswick. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren D. Mason, Sr., and granddaughter, Kristi Michelle Mason.
Mrs. Mason was a 1953 graduate of Glynn Academy, a homemaker, and member of Trinity Christian Church. She loved the Lord with all her heart.
Mrs. Mason is survived by her three sons, W. Dana Mason, Jr. (Donna) of St. Simmons Island, Don D. Mason (Janet) of Brunswick and Jim Mason (Nancy) of Waynesville; six grandchildren, Ashley Lacey (Bobby), Lindsey Maroney (Bradley), Brittni Coty (Joey), Matt Mason (Laura), Mallory Klette (Erik) and Cameron Kim (Yunho); 11 great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Rory Lacey, Madden and Hampton Maroney, Kennedi, Reid, and Parker Coty, Molly and Mark Mason, Mackenzie Klette and future Baby Kim; brother-in-law, Lewis Mason (Betty); sister-inlaw, Norma Gill; as well as several nieces and nephews, all of whom were the love of her life.
Mrs. Mason’s mission in life was to provide a loving home built on a solid foundation of loving and serving the Lord. Her children wholeheartedly believe she accomplished that mission and believe the Lord would say, “Well, done, my good and faithful servant.”
A a Celebration of Life service was held Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home in Brunswick.
Active pallbearers for private interment were Matt Mason, Bradley Maroney, Bobby Lacey, Erik Klette, Mike Herring and Joey Coty.
Honorary pallbearers were Denny Strickland and Jerry Strickland.
In Mrs. Mason’s honor, the family suggests donations be made to Trinity Christian Church, 3820 Ross Road, Brunswick, Georgia or Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, Georgia.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the at-home caregivers and the staff at Hospice of the Golden Isles for the wonderful care their mother received.
