WAYNESVILLE – George Edward Strayer II, 62, of Waynesville passed away Thursday evening, June 12, 2025 at his residence after an extended illness.
Born in Brunswick, his parents were George Edw ard Strayer and Evelyn Carr Strayer.
Strayer worked for Brunswick Floors and loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed going fishing and old cars.
Survivors include his wife Tina Strayer of Waynesville; a son and daughter- in-law, George Edward Strayer III (Holly) of Waynesville; a daughter and son-in-law, Samantha Newton (Matthew) of Waynesville; 10 grandchildren, Conrad Newton, Asher Newton, George Edward Strayer IV, Jolene Strayer, Wally Strayer, Ansel Strayer, Sheyann Anderson, Austin, Russell and Robbie; a sister and brother-in-law, Theresa Decker (Phil) of Waynesville; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. until 10 a.m., at Frye Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 10 a.m., at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home.
