DOUGLAS — South Georgia State College has announced the addition of the Emergency Services Management concentration within its Bachelor of Science in Management program.
Designed to meet the growing demand for skilled leaders in emergency medical services, the ESM (Emergency Services Management) option offers specialized, 100 percent online coursework tailored to both traditional students and working professionals seeking leadership or entrepreneurial roles in the emergency services sector.
The BSM (Bachelor of Science) program features a solid management core, paired with four specialized options — Emergency Services Management, Marketing, Organizational Behavior and Financial Technologies.
Students selecting the ESM track will complete an additional 15 credit hours focused on the strategic and operational aspects of emergency services leadership.
“This new concentration is an ideal pathway for EMTs, paramedics, and emergency services professionals ready to take the next step into management,” said Dr. Joseph Holloway, Chair of Business, Management, and Marketing. “It provides the necessary tools to effectively navigate the evolving healthcare landscape and lead EMS organizations with confidence and competence.”
The ESM concentration is designed to train current or aspiring EMTs and paramedics to become leaders within their fields.
The program will cover EMS Management, Advanced EMS Management, EMS Roles in Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Management, Insurance, Billing and Reimbursement, as well as Policy and Government Awareness.
Graduates of this program will gain a comprehensive understanding of how EMS systems operate, interact with insurance providers, and coordinate with local and state officials.
The program’s flexible, online format allows working professionals to continue their education without interrupting their careers.
