Local realtors arrested by GBI

Local realtors Dustin Sauls and Cierra Chancey have been arrested for concealing a death and possession of cocaine in the September 28, 2022 death of their daughter, sixth-month-old Madi Sauls.

According to a press release by the Douglas office of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), Sauls, 41, and Chancey, 36, both of Blackshear were arrested by the GBI in Pierce County Friday, May 30, with the assistance of the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.

Sauls and Chancey were booked into the Appling County Jail.

The GBI was originally requested by the Baxley Police Department to investigate the death of the Sauls child. The couple was living in Baxley at the time. Preliminary information indicated the parents delayed reporting the death and were in possession of a substance later determined to be cocaine at the time.
