
Jane Mae Henderson, 80, peacefully left us early Wednesday morning, June 4, 2025, after a prolonged battle with illness. She was surrounded by her loving family during her final moments.
It is with heavy hearts, we announce her passing.
She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Glory Nell Rathford, and her two daughters, Flossie Mae Parrish and Eunice Henderson Johnson.
Born in 1945 in Tattnall County, Jane was the daughter of the late Flossie Mae Hargroves. She attended public school in Tattnall County before pursuing a rewarding career in housekeeping at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Henderson
Troy, New York. After retiring, she devoted her time to doing what she loved: fishing and attending services at Union Chapel Baptist Church in Mershon, Georgia.
She leaves to cherish her memory her grandchildren, Jermaine Robert Henderson (Ona), Mershon, Leon James Parrish and Monique Antonette Parrish, both of Jacksonville, FL and Jessica Henderson, Waycross; great-grandchildren, Ocean Calontay Henderson, Kaiden Dunson, Deyleon Jermayne Henderson, DeAsia Aladdin Henderson, Jeremiah Jermaine Henderson, Jermaine Robert Henderson Jr., Asunnyah Justice Henderson, Si’Diamond Henderson, Domonique Henderson, Layla Parrish, Rosa Parrish, A’leyah Parrish and Perfect Unice Henderson and a host of godchildren, additional relatives, friends, and children she lovingly helped raise throughout her life.
The family extends heartfelt thanks for the outpouring of love and support from all who knew Jane. Her kindness and nurturing spirit will never be forgotten.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 13, at the Lee Street Resource Center, 623 Sycamore Street, Blackshear.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 14, from the Evergreen Church Ministry, 4100 Georgia Highway 32, Bristol. The Rev. Nathaniel Anderson is the pastor and Minister Helen Staggers will be the eulogist.
Interment will follow in the Union Chapel Church Cemetery, 3552 Pine Road, Mershon.
