Charles Gregory “PJim” Murphy Jr., 48, of Patterson, passed away Friday evening, June 6, 2025, at his residence.
Born in Waycross November 14, 1976, he lived in Pierce County all his life. He was a 1996 graduate of Pierce County High School. He was a life-long farmer who when he wasn’t working he enjoyed

hunting and being with his family. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church but was attending Living River Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, T. J and Nora Mae Perry Smith; his paternal grandf ather, Henry Charlie Murphy and aunt and uncles, Sue and James Carter and Jerry Smith.
Survivors include his twin daughters, Elaina Murphy and Ella Murphy, both of Blackshear; his parents, Greg Sr. and Jan Murphy, Douglas; his brother, Brad Murphy, Patterson; his paternal grandmother, Lavonne “Polly” Moody, Glennville; his niece, Alexis (Ashton) Adams, Patterson; aunts and uncles, Gene (Janice) Smith, Albany, Micki Smith, Bristol, and Doug Murphy, Glennville and several other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from noon-1 p.m. Thursday, June 12, at the Martha Memorial Methodist Church near Bristol.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 12, from the Martha Memorial Methodist Church with Pastor R.B. Gaskins officiating.
Interment will follow in the Martha Memorial Cemetery.
