Letter to the Editor

Two issues that need to be addressed

Editor, The Times: I have two issues that need to be addressed here if I may. The first is balloon release. This must stop. This in no way to honor a loved one or a congratulations. These balloons end up as litter and we know we have a litter problem in Pierce County.

Plant a tree for a loved one — anything but a balloon release.

My next issue is pet abandonment in this county. A friend of mine had a neighbor move away and left six kittens including three adults. This is totally unacceptable. Never leave your dogs or cats while moving. Try to rehome them. How cruel can you be by leaving a pet behind? Don’t expect that a cat will fend for itself. This is a false myth.

Pets are loved and should be a part of the family. Please spay and neuter your pets as this is the only way to help with this issue. There is a low cost clinic in Jesup, or see your veterinary choices to set up appointments. Thank you in advance.
