Lake Clough recently received third place at the Annual Georgia State FFA Convention held in Macon. Clough placed third in the plant science research-plant systems division.
This comes after his first place showing in the regional competition held earlier in the 2024-2025 school year. Clough’s project consists of pecan tree research and the improvement and development of new varieties that are less susceptible to disease while maintaining quality production. He and his family own and operate Clough Pecan Company which is a leader in the pecan industry.
Clough is a freshman at Pierce County High School and is the son of Chris and Susan Clough.
