Aspiring music artist Whitney Walker was a special guest of the recent Breakfast and Bingo event sponsored by the Pierce County Recreation Department and Hospice Satilla. Walker blessed the crowd with her beautiful voice and songs from her latest album, Reason in the Silence.
Walker’s prayer is that her album will serve as a reminder “That even in the quiet, He is able, He is working, and He is faithful.”
Breakfast and Bingo is a local tradition, bringing the community together each month. The event features a warm breakfast sponsored by the Recreation Department, followed by a fun and competitive game of bingo where guests have a chance to win prizes provided by Hospice Satilla. Stacey Thrift, Healthcare Relations Representative, also leads a brief Q&A session, answering any questions about the services Hospice Satilla and Satilla Palliative Care offer. Coach Maureen Brown, Director of the Pierce Recreation Department, also shares any updates on any local recreation programs.
Ages 55 and up are welcome to join in the fun every second Monday of each month at 10 a.m. at the Pierce County Gym, 705 College Avenue, Blackshear.
