Bronze Clifford “Rusty” Youmans Jr., 71, of Patterson, passed away Thursday evening, June 5, 2025, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House in Waycross.
Born in Waycross June 6, 1953, he lived in Pierce County most of his life. He was a 1971 graduate of Patterson High School where he proudly wore the #32 jersey for the Patterson Eagles. He was also very involved in FFA where he won numerous awards. A lifetime farmer, he grew several different crops over the years including growing cucumbers for Mt. Olive Pickles and even owning a dairy. He was the 1985 recipient of the Pierce County Farm Bureau Junior Farmer of the Year award as well as the 1998 recipient of the Pierce County Chamber of Commerce Farmer of the Year award. In his younger days, he enjoyed riding horses and playing softball. He loved Southern Rock music and going to concerts and enjoyed watching western and military movies. He used to host dove shoots and loved spending time with his family. He was a member of Patterson Baptist Church.
He was the son of the late Dr. Bronze C. and Johnnie Howard Youmans. He was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Ron Titus.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Jane Callahan Youmans, Patterson; his two daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and Johnny Thigpen, Blackshear and Sarah and Dathan McIntosh, Mershon; three sisters, Abbie (Gary) Wakefield, Chattanooga, TN, Lizann (Joe) Roberts, Savannah, and Julie Titus, Jacksonville, FL; four grandchildren, Daisy Thigpen, Ranson Thigpen, Mason McIntosh and Russ McIntosh; three aunts, Nora Ann Kelly, Thomasville, and Linda Howard and Sue Page, both of Blackshear and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, June 8, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 9, from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. R. C. James and the Rev. Dr. Justin Gambrell officiating.
Interment will be in the Patterson Cemetery.
