Lois Jeanette Tyson Harris, 84, of Brunswick, peacefully transitioned Monday, June 2, 2025, at Hospice of the Golden Isles, with her family by her side.
She was born in Blackshear and graduated from Blackshear High School. She lived in Brunswick for the past 55 years and was a member of Glyndale Baptist Church for over 50 years. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and traveling, but most of all, she loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Ted Harris; her parents, William Wiley and Susie Bell Brown Tyson; a granddaughter, Kristi Michelle Mason; five siblings, Florence Pittman (E.C.), Dorothy Williamson (Tommy), William W. “Buck” Tyson, Charles Tyson (Lena) and David Tyson (Fran); two brothers-in-law, Owen Harris and Don Harris and a sister-in-law, Dianne Davis.
Survivors include two daughters, Janet Harris Mason (Don) and Susan Harris Norwood (Roger); three grandchildren, Ashley Mason Lacey (Bobby), Alex Norwood (Erin) and Austin Norwood; two great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Rory Lacey; a brother-in-law, Terrell Davis; three sisters-in-law, Eris Harris Melton, Nelda Harris and Carol Jean Tyson; a special niece, Sally Harris and many other loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, at the funeral home.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, from the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Tony Batten officiating.
In Jeanette’s honor, the family suggests donations to Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA 31525.
