A traffic stop earlier this month resulted in the arrest of three Waycross people on drug-related charges and violation of probation.
Arrested, Wednesday, May 14 were Andrew Blue Revels, 46, of the 17oo block of Lesher Street and Emory David Harden II, 49, of the 3700 block of Albany Avenue. In the vehicle at the time of the stop, but arrested Friday, May 16 was Heather Denise Nipper, 45, of the 700 block of East Waring Street.
Revels was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, use of a communication device or facility in the commission of a felony and misdemeanor possession of marijuana less than one ounce.
Harden was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, probation violation possession of methamphetamine, probation violation of an original charge oxycodone, use of a communication device or facility in the commission of a felony and misdemeanor possession of marijuana less than one ounce.
Nipper was charged with use of a communication device or facility in the commission of a felony involving controlled substance.
About 2:53 p.m., May 14, Patrol Deputy Zachary Lytle noticed a black Chevrolet Silverado pickup stopped at the stop sign on Buchannon Street. Lytle noticed the driver, who was Revels, put on his seat belt at the stop sign.
Lytle stopped the vehicle in the area of Morgan and Atwood Streets and approached the pickup on the driver’s side and explained the reason for the stop. Detectives Dakota York, Antony Phillips and Det. Sgt. James Cox also were present to assist with the stop.
A search of the vehicle after the occupants were removed revealed a plastic bag with a crystal-like substance that field tested for methamphetamine. Another plastic bag contained a green, leafy substance that field tested for marijuana. Cox also did a search of cellphones recovered.
Revels and Harden were taken to the Ware County Jail where they were booked on the charges. Nipper was arrested two days later.
