Special to The Times
Blackshear Elementary recently held its honors day for fifth grade students to recognize their achievements in academics, character, leadership, 4-H, Beta and connections classes.
A separate awards ceremony was held for each fifth grade team.
During each ceremony, students who maintained A Honor Roll or A/B Honor Roll during the school year were recognized before their peers and awarded a certificate and medal or trophy.

Each team also selected several students to receive the citizenship award for their demonstration of respect, loyalty, morals and responsibility throughout the school year.
Pierce County 4-H extension agent Billie Ann King presented numerous 4-H awards to students for their participation in the 4H program throughout the year. Assistant principal Andrea Dixon closed the ceremony by announcing the Principal’s Award recipients for the year. This is the highest honor given to a student at BES.

Perfect Attendance Award winner Gabe Aldridge. Plata. and Nico Seifert.
