WINOKUR – Jerry Allen Herrin, 77 of Winokur, passed away Monday afternoon, May 19, 2025 at his residence after an extended illness.

Herrin’s parents were Perry Osceola Herrin and Stella Mae Pittman Cleland. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Linda Ruth Wasdin Herrin; stepdad, George Cleland; two brothers, Perry Lee Herrin and Stanley Allison Herrin; a brother-in-law, Danny Crews; and a special friend, Archie Crews.

Herrin was a high voltage electrician for Kings Bay and a member of Winokur Baptist Church. He loved his family, hunting, fishing, tinkering and watching Georgia Bulldog Football.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-inlaw, Joy Sirmans (Chris) of Hickox and Lacy Cox (Gene) of Calhoun, Ga.; two grandchildren, Gage Copeland and Jerrin Sirmans; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Juanita Crews and Linda Dowling (Robert), all of Raybon; two sisters-in-law, Laurel Herrin and Lucille Herrin, both of Hickox; special friends, Pete and Sue O’Berry and Shirley Crews; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

A graveside service was held Thursday morning, May 22, 2025 at Knox Cemetery with Rev. Ray McMillan officiating.

Pallbearers were Lacy Cox, Joy Sirmans, Gene Cox, Chris Sirmans, Gage Copeland, Jerrin Sirmans and Stephen Crews.

Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
