William ‘Tyler’ Griffis

WAYCROSS – William “Tyler” Griffis, 43 of Waycross, passed away Wednesday night, May 21, 2025 at Memorial Satilla Hospital.

Born in Brunswick, his parents are William Brad Griffis of Brunswick and Gloria Jean Gordon Griffis of Waycross. Griffis is preceded in death by a nephew, Eli Mancil; and an uncle, Ronnie Gordon.

Griffis was a welder iron worker. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was a priest in priesthood. Griffis loved spending time with his family, working out, running and welding.

Survivors include a daughter, Kylie Kathleen Griffis of Panama City Beach, Fla.; his father and stepmother, William “Brad” Griffis (Shelley Lee Griffis) of Brunswick; his mother, Gloria Jean Gordon Griffis of Waycross; a brother and sister-in-law, David Brian Miller (Lyndsey) of Augusta; a sister and brother-in-law, Cydney Griffis Mancil (Bobby) of Brunswick; a niece, Isabella Griffis Mancil; two cousins, Travis Griffis and Harrison Griffis; and also several other relatives and a host of friends.

A funeral service was held Tuesday morning, May 27, 2025 at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Bishop Charlie Moore officiating.

Burial followed in High Bluff Cemetery Pallbearers were Travis Griffis, Harrison Griffis, Brian Miller, Logan Miller, Chet Floyd, Lowell Floyd and Mike Peffer.

Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
