The investigation continues into a suspicious death off Big House Road early Sunday morning, May 18.
According to Sheriff Ramsey Bennett, Tristin Aspinwall, 23, of Black shear, was found unresponsive near a side-by side SUV in what was originally believed to be a vehicle accident.
Aspinwall was discovered on a farm access/timber lane in the vicinity of Cleve and Meadow Wood Roads west of Blackshear about 7:15 that morning.
Further investigation led law enforcement officers to label the death as suspicious. Reportedly, Aspinwall sustained injuries that were not consistent with an accident.
Aspinwall was pronounced dead at the scene by Coroner William Wilson.
Aspinwall’s body was sent to the Georgia State Crime Lab in Pooler for an autopsy.
Medical examiners still have not released a cause of death in the case.
Sheriff Bennett declined comment, citing the ongoing investigation.
Meanwhile, those closest to Aspinwall are left to cope with the death of a young father who is remembered as someone who “worked hard... played hard.. and loved his family”.
Aspinwall was engaged to be married and was the father of a one-year-old son, Hance.

He was employed by LBI and had formerly worked at Chemours. He was a 2019 graduate of Pierce County High School and was of the Baptist faith.
Aspinwall is described as a hard worker with a strong work ethic, but also someone who played as hard as he worked.
Aspinwall loved deer and duck hunting, fishing and boating and he especially enjoyed riding buggies and four-wheelers.
He is described as a family man and someone who never met a stranger.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 24, from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel.
