Robert Wayne Blankenship, 65, of Blackshear, passed away Wednesday morning, May 21, 2025, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross, following an extended illness.
Born June 11, 1959, in Tampa, Florida, he was a son of Bertha Smith Blankenship and the late Robert Rubin Blankenship. He lived most of his life in Florida before moving to Pierce County in 2020. He was a longtime steel detailer and retired from Steel and Metal Systems, Inc. in Blackshear.
He was a member of the Rack and Stack Hunting Club in Scotland and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Lana Allen Blankenship, Blackshear; four children, Traci Blankenship, Houston, TX, Ashley Blankenship, Tampa, FL, Michael Stokes, Ocala, FL and Heather Price of New Hampshire; eight grandchildren; his mother, Bertha Smith Blankenship, Cairo; sister, Priscilla Strickland (husband Robert), Cairo and several other relatives.
A time of visitation and remembrance will be held from 10:30 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 24, at the funeral home.
