William Spencer “Billy” Boyette, 67, of Patterson, passed away early Monday morning, May 12, 2025, at Ascension St. Vincent’s Riverside in Jacksonville, Florida, following an extended illness.
Born September 11, 1957, in Jacksonville, Florida, he was a son of the late James Randall Boyette Sr. and Vinnie Ruth Byrd Boyette. He lived most of his life in Ware and Pierce Counties and had worked many years as a self-employed carpenter. For the past almost 20 years, he worked in the maintenance department for the Ware County Board of Education.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Louise Dean Boyette; two sisters, Martha Jean Watford and Margaret Jane McDuffie and a brother, James Randall “Buddy” Boyette Jr.
Survivors include his daughter, Misty Boyette Smith, Waycross; son, Phillip Morris (wife Amanda), Waycross; eight grandchildren, Kearston Smith, Jaxon Smith, Mathew Smith, Austin Morris (fiancé Kristen), Braden Morris (wife Stella), Christina Jordan (husband John), Maia Beverley and Madison Fisher; two greatgrandchildren and another on the way, Kinley Jordan, Aliyah Herlong and Willow Smith expected soon; four sisters, Jewlene Sweat (husband, the late Shelby), Brantley County, Mary Beverley (husband Merrell), Manor, Colleen Taylor (husband Benny) and Darlene Griffin (husband Terry), all of Blackshear and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 15, from the chapel of Hart Funeral Home.
