Amvets to hold Poppy event May 23

The C.C. Stephens Amvets Post 621 will have a poppy event from noon-4 p.m. Friday, May 23, at the Kroger in Waycross. Amvets members will be at the store handing out poppies in memory of veterans. The members are not asking for donations, but any funds received will go toward Amvets projects.

Southern Georgia Regional Commission to meet Thursday A meeting of the Southern Georgia Regional Commission Council is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, May 22. The meeting will be held at the SGRC Waycross Office, 1725 S. Georgia Parkway W, Waycross.

An executive and nomination committee meeting will be held prior to the council meeting beginning at 10 a.m. All meetings are open to the public.

Area Agency on Aging to meet next Wednesday, May 28 The Aging Advisory Council of the Southern Georgia Regional Commission’s Area Agency on Aging will meet at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 28. The meeting will be held at the Southern Georgia Regional Commission at 1725 South Georgia Parkway, West in Waycross. It is open to the public. Memorial Satilla hosts Snore No More, June 17 Struggling with sleep apnea? Does your partner snore? Birthing Center Tour June 19

Memorial Satilla Health provides tours of its state-of-the-art labor and delivery unit from 5-7 p.m. at 1900 Tebeau Street Waycross on dates throughout the year.

The 2025 Birthing Center tours are scheduled for June 19, July 20, August 2, September 8, October 16 and November 4.

Memorial Satilla maternity class July 12

Memorial Satilla will have maternity classed to help families prepare for childbirth and life after a new baby arrives.

The class includes a tour of Memorial Satilla’s state-of-the art Birthing Center at 1900 Tebeau Street Waycross.

Maternity Classes are held monthly in the Birthing Center Conference Room (third floor) July 14 and September 15.
