Beyonce Sanchez is the 2024-2025 recipient of the Pierce County Chamber of Commerce Scholarship.
The chamber scholarship is awarded to a student planning to advance their learning in the areas of business, education, leadership, political science or specialized skills training. The recipient must demonstrate leadership qualities, involvement in community service, a strong work ethic and an interest in education, business and most importantly helping others.
This year’s scholar hits all of those checked boxes. One of Sanchez’s teachers told representatives of the chamber, “She is a student you will never forget! She is kind to everyone, hardworking and thoughtful.”
“I must agree,” said Chamber executive director Christi Pitts. “The handful of times that I have interacted with her, she has been all of those and much more. Always with a smile.”
Sanchez was an active member of Beta Club, FCCLA, student council, FFA and HOSA. Throughout high school she was also a part of Satilla Hospice’s junior board of directors, student leadership academy, Chick-Fil-A leadership and the superintendent advisory council. This does not include numerous hours spent upon community service and fundraisers. In addition, Sanchez was an honor student all four years of high school and was crowned homecoming queen.
“It is my honor along with the entire Pierce County Chamber of Commerce board of directors’ privilege to present Beyonce Sanchez with this year’s Pierce County Chamber of Commerce $1,000 scholarship. The chamber wants to always give back to our future leaders,” said Pitts. “Sanchez will begin her career in nursing in the fall and we wish her all the best.”
