Lyndell Jackson Davis, 62, of Patterson, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2025, at his residence following a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Blackshear January 5, 1963, he lived in Pierce County all his life. He was a 1981 graduate of Patterson High School. He had worked at Waycross Auto Supply prior to opening his own automotive parts store in Patterson which he ran for a few years. He would later go on to work for R. C. James who was instrumental in teaching him all he knew about hydraulics. He started Lyndell Davis Services and was an independent contractor with Sierra International traveling all over the country repairing machinery. He loved to fish and was an avid car enthusiast. He also loved to collect and shoot guns. He was happiest surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren and cooking for them.
He was a son of the late Joseph Benjamin Sr. and Geraldine Perkins Davis. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Davis; and two brothers-in-law, Gary Burkhalter and Cody Burkhalter.
Survivors include his wife, Shane Vickery-Davis, Patterson; five children-in-love, Stacy (Kevin) Lewis, Blackshear, J. C. (Shammra) Cothern, Patterson, Travis Cothern, Blackshear, Michael Vickery, Patterson and Robbie Vickery, Blackshear; nine grandchildren, Dayton (Graci) Dykes, Cali Sellers, Briar Cothern, Kelsi Davis, Trenton Vickery, Kaiden Meeks, Paisley Lewis, Lainey Owens, and Landry Owens; a great-grandchild, Raelyn Dykes; his best friend since childhood, Perry (Carolyn) Johnson, Patterson; his siblings, Diane (Randy) Crawford and Juanita (Jack) Tyre, all of Patterson, and Benjy (Roxanne) Davis, Offerman; his mother-in-law, Colleen, Patterson and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be from 3-4 p.m. Sunday, May 18, at the funeral home.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 18, from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
The family kindly requests members of the Patterson High School Class of 1981 to serve as honorary pallbearers. They are asked to please meet at the funeral home by 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
