John Carl Pirkle

DIXIE UNION — Mr. John Carl Pirkle, 58, of Dixie Union, died Friday morning, May 2, 2025, at Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, Ala., after a brief illness.

He was born in Cumming, Ga., to the late Lee Grant Pirkle and Ruby Louise Hammond Pirkle. Raised in Waycross, Pirkle bought and moved to his beloved farm in Dixie Union in 1990. He married the love of his life, Tammy Renee Padgett, on August 20, 1994.

Pirkle was a man who loved life. He loved to laugh and cherished any moment spent with family and friends. He loved his farm and the multitude of animals that lived there. He always enjoyed having people visit to fish in his pond. A man with a generous and caring spirit, Pirkle never met a stranger and had a keen sense of knowing when someone was in need and would help them any possible way he could. His laugh, smile and simple down-toearth nature always brightened the day of anyone who crossed his path.

Pirkle was a member of Central Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir for many years. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Darlene Pirkle and Dolores Stipe, and an infant brother, Mark Pirkle.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy Pirkle of Dixie Union; three children, Joseph Morgan and his wife, Sunni, of Dixie Union, Jessica Crews and her husband, Brantley, of Waycross, and Amaris Cox
