First Nazarene has homecoming The First Church of the Nazarene, 2505 Alice Street, celebrates Homecoming with a special service at 11 a.m., Sunday, May 18.

The Rev. Ken Carden, former pastor of First Church of Nazarene for 14 years, returns as te featured speaker. Carden, who now resides in Tennessee, has an inspiring message from a battle with COVID-19.

The congregation will gather for a meal after the service. Chris Padgett is the church pastor.

Pleasant Valley has VBS June 1-5 Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 7136 Central Avenue, holds Vacation Bible School Sunday-Thursday, June 1-5 on the church grounds.

The program, themed “Wonder Junction,” will be 6-8:30 p.m. each day for ages pre-k through adult. There’s dinner each evening.

There will be crafts, games, music and Bible stories. Registration forms are available at the church. Call 283-2577.

‘New to You Sale’ May 16-17 at Grace Grace Episcopal Church, 401 Pendleton Street, has scheduled its spring “New To You Sale” Friday-Saturday, May 1617.

The fundraiser will be 9 a..m.-6 p.m. Friday and 911:30 a.m. Saturday in the parish hall on the Mary Street side of the church. There will be gently used apparel, toys, housewares, books, furniture, electronics and more.

Eleven 22 to meet at Book & Bean The Church of Eleven22 will meet at 10 a.m. every Friday at The Book & Bean Coffee Shop, 629 Main Street in Blackshear.

A program of fellowship, worship and praise will take place.

Antioch Baptist sets Family-Friends Day Historic Antioch Baptist Church, Inc., 615 Knight Avenue, celebrates Family and Friends Day with a special worship service at 11 a.m., Sunday, May 18.

Theme for the service is: “Celebrating God’s Gift of Family and Friends: A Time for Love, Unity, and Support.” The Rev. Raymond C. Williams, Sr., is church pastor.

River of Life starts resource program River of Life Church, 1439 Brunel Street, offers a community resource center from 10 a.m. to noon, the fourth Friday of each month.

The River Missions program will offer practical life skills, hot meals, clothing and more. Next session is May 23.

Faith Outreach has Father’s Day event Faith Outreach Ministries, 200 Tebeau Street, will hold a special Father’s Day musical program at 4 p.m., Sunday, June 15.

DC Downtown has food ministry DC Downtown Food Ministry offers food items from a 5,000-square foot warehouse at 201 Jenkins Street from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
