Jimmy Leomon Dinkins

HICKOX – Jimmy Leomon Dinkins, 82 of Hickox, passed away Monday, May 5, 2025 at his residence.

Born in Waycross, his parents were Weamon “W.D.” Dinkins and Estelle Dowling Dinkins. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Edwena Jones Dinkins; five grandchildren, Dillion, James, Jr., Anthony, Sade and Madisyn; a brother, Clifton Dinkins; and a sister, Audrey Chapman.

Dinkins retired from Bayer Crop Science and was a member of Southside Baptist Church. He loved hunting and fishing.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-inlaw, James W. Dinkins (Daphne) of Hickox and Joseph Arthur Dinkins of Tennessee; two daughters, Cynthia “Cindy” Dinkins of Hickox and Joanne Mitchell of Connecticutt; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; four sisters, Patsy Watson

Dinkens

of Harrietts Bluffs, Ruby Pierce of Waycross, Elizabeth Hanzi of Hickory Bluff and Caroline Johnson of Offerman; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

A funeral service was held Thursday morning, May 8, 2025 at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Cochran officiating.

Burial followed in Waters Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jimmy Dinkins, Thomas Dinkins, Tyler Crews, Jimmy “J.W.” Dinkins, Landon Dinkins and Drew Perry.

Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
