Rec Dept. holding bass fishing tourney NAHUNTA — The Brantley County recreation Department is holding a Bass Fishing tournament open to all ages Saturday, May 31.

The entry fee is $20. Check in begins at 8 a.m. Fishing at Lake BCRD is from 8:30 a.m.-11 a.m. Youth must be accompanied by an adult.

Call 912-462-5128 to register. The winner will have their fish mounted by Buffalo Creek Taxidermy.

Pleasant Valley VBS runs June 1-June 5 HOBOKEN — Pleasant Valley Baptist Church is holding Vacation Bible School beginning Sunday, June 1.

The five-day “Wonder Junction’ VBS runs through Thursday, May 29 for ages pre-k to adult starting at 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.

Dinner will be served each night. Pleasant Valley Baptist Church is located at 7136 Central Avenue.

FCA announces Triatholon/Duathlon The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is hosting a Splash Mash & Dash Triathlon/Duathlon Saturday, June 7 at Laura S. Walker State Park.

Registration for individuals is $85 through Tuesday, May 27. It rises to $95 May 28-June 4, and $110 June 5-June 7.

Team registration is $170 until May 27, $190 May 28, June 4, and $220 June 5-June 7.

The fees do not include a $12 USAT fee for non-USAT members.

Visit DRCSPORTS.COM to register. The race will begin at 7:30 a.m. The $5 park entry fee will be waived until 7:15 a.m.
