‘Who’ is that feathered visitor hanging out at the Pierce County Court House? An owl figurine has been placed on the stoop at the front entrance of the Pierce County Court House. County officials have placed the owl there as a deterrent to a mockingbird determined to build a nest among the nearby landscaping. The mockingbird has been known to protect her nest by dive bombing unsuspecting ‘human’ visitors to the county’s historic courthouse.
