MSH donates to WayGreen

Memorial Satillla Health has partnered with WayGreen on expansion of its community food park at the corner of Riverside Drive and E. Blackshear Avenue. WayGreen will purchase 12 hydroponic grow towers for the food park to grow salad greens and other produce that will contribute to its Family Farm Share program. With grant funding made available through Georgia Organics, the program provides a low cost, weekly, fresh food share to families of young children. Currently, 60 families in Ware, Pierce, Bacon and Brantley counties receive the shares. The food park features raised beds, in-ground crops and fruit trees. All items are grown organically with volunteers cultivating the gardens. Accepting the hospital’s donation of $6,750 from former Chief Executive Officer Dale Neely (second from right) are (l-r) Kitty Rogers, Connie Oliver, Justin Hall and Robert Gibbs.
