U.S. Air Force veteran Charlie Smith was honored on his 91st birthday March 22, by the City of Alma and the Colonel Daniel Appling Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Smith was recognized for his dedication and service to the country and community with a special DAR veteran’s pin and the key to the City of Alma. The event at the Bacon County Senior Center included friends, family, and city officials.
