A two-car collision Thursday, April 17 resulted in the drivers of both vehicles being transported to Memorial Satilla Health for treatment, said Capt. Benji Hersey, Patrol Section Commander of the Waycross Police Department.
Eddie Freeman, 73, and Natalia Valentine, 46, both of Waycross, were involved in the 2:45 p.m. incident on Crescent Street at its intersection with Riverside Avenue. Each complained of pain following the wreck, and they were taken by Ware County EMS to the hospital for evaluation.
Freeman, in a grey 2007 Toyota Camry, was driving north Crescent and failed to yield at the stop sign. He pulled into the path of Valentine, who was traveling west on Riverside in a grey, 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The impact of Freeman’s vehicle sent Valentine’s SUV into a tree near the intersection. Freeman was cited for a stop sign violation.
Patrol Officer Devin McCoy investigated the wreck.
