First Southern Bank will open a brand new branch in Blackshear even as its 118year-old Patterson location transitions to a limited-service branch.
First Southern Bank President Bill Hughes and Chairman of the Board Daniel S. Hager made the announcement last week.
A letter has been mailed to customers apprising them of the developments for both branches.

“It is an exciting time at First Southern Bank and some changes are coming to our Blackshear and Patterson area customers,” said Hager.
The new Blackshear branch, located at 221 Ware Street just off of U.S. Highway 84, is slated to open no later than July.
The Patterson location, located at 6365 U.S. Highway 84 in Patterson, will transition to a limited-service branch.
Limited services available at the Patterson branch will include drive-thru teller service from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. daily, safe deposit box access by appointment, loan payments, automated teller machine (ATM) and night drop.
The Patterson branch was once the headquarters for The Patterson Bank, founded in 1907.
First Southern’s new Blackshear location will be a full-service branch. It will join full-service First Southern branches in Jesup and Waycross and Bradenton, Sebring and Stuart, FL.
Internet banking will also be available at www.fsb-bank.bank as will First Southern’s mobile banking app.
