Deloris Evon Dixon Aldridge

Deloris Evon Dixon Aldridge, 96, of Waycross, passed away Thursday morning, April 17, 2025, at the Baptist Village Nursing Home in Waycross.

Born in Mershon December 26, 1928, she lived in Aldridge Ware County most of her adult life. She had worked for Reuben Brothers Shoe Factory as well as worked as a sitter prior to becoming a homemaker. She was a former member of Kettle Creek Methodist Church and was currently a member of Cornerstone Church of God.

She loved the Lord and was faithful in not only reading her Bible but living her life for Christ. She was a very special person who loved everyone and will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was a daughter of the late Warren Russell and Rebecca Howard Dixon. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Ellis Aldridge and all four of her siblings, Hazel Varnadore, Crecy Kitchens, Ebie Lee Hamilton and Bill Dixon.

Survivors include her three sons, Robert Aldridge and Larry (Sharon) Aldridge, all of Waycross and Ernest Aldridge, Blackshear; two grandchildren, Kim (Bradley) Gorman and Chad (Jill) Aldridge; three great-grandchildren, Amelia Gorman, Caleb Aldridge and Candace Aldridge and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Graveside funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, April 21, from the Kettle Creek Cemetery in Waycross with the Rev. Danny Varnadore and the Rev. Donnie Hamilton officiating.
