Lady Gators tops in final two meets

Gators 2nd at Worth Co. Senior Night

SYLVESTER — Ware County’s Lady Gators track team captured the Worth County Senior Night event here Monday with the Gators finishing second.

The Lady Gators piled up 168 points with seven first-place finishes in the April 15 nine-team event. They were followed by host Worth County (135), Cairo (92), Terrell County (64.5), Berrien (60), Irwin County (33.5), Randolph-Clay (27.5), Calhoun County (6) and Macon County (0).

The Gators finished behind Worth County in the nine-team boys’ meet. The Rams registered 164 points. Ware County’s 123.25 points and three first-place finishes was followed by Berrien (102.5), Terrell County (53), Irwin County (50.5), Calhoun County (48.5), Cairo (47), Macon County (31.25) and Randoph-Clay (11).

Girls’ meet

Capturing events were Jada Conaway (12.86 seconds) in the 100-meter, Amaria Dukes (1:05.26) in the 400m, Nadya Ellis (18.32 sec.) in the 100m hurdles, Shaliah Davis (4’10”) in the high jump, Jada Evans (33’9.5”) in the triple jump, Shardell Vickers (36’8”) in the shot put and the 4x100m relay team (51.09 sec.).

Finishing second were India Brinson

(12.88 sec.) in the 100m, KeMya Crowley

(14’8.4”) in the long jump, Shardell Vickers (94’2”) in the discus, Destiny Finney

(35’7”) in the shot put and the 4x200m relay team (1:56.16).

Placing third were KeMya Crowley

(13.17 sec.) in the 100m, Shakia Lane

(28.47 sec.) in the 200m, Kiyoko Ward

(7:29.78) in the 1,600m, Nadya Ellis

(52.73 sec.) in the 300m hurdles and Natalie Paterson (4’8”) in the high jump.

Recording fourth-place finishes were KeMya Crowley (29.01 sec.) in the 200m, Shidaviona Washington (14’2.5”) in the long jump, Lailani Carson (31’8.5”) in the triple jump and Jada Evans (32’) in the shot put.

Destiny Finney (78’1/2”) finished fifth in the discus, Kiyoko Ward (3:28.72) was sixth in the 800m, Izzy Griffis (3:42.29) placed seventh in the 800m, Jada Evans

(69’4”) was ninth in the discus and Kasi Jackson (24.33 sec.) placed 10th in the

100m hurdles.

Boys’ meet

Cameron King posted two first-place victories winning the long jump (21’1.5”) and triple jump (43’2”). Isaiah Grayer

(12’6”) was first in the pole vault.

Placing second were Brayten Hood

(5:08.53) in the 1,600m, Adarius Brown

(6’1”) in the high jump, David Muchison

(11’6”) in the pole vault and the 4x800m relay team (9:39.53).

Da’Marion Zanders (11’) finished third in the pole vault as did the 4x200m relay team (1:36.99).

Placing fourth were Brayten Hood

(2:24.52) in the 800m, Brock Payne

(5:29.96) in the 1,600m, Bryce Baldwin

(41’6”) in the triple jump and Teshaun Wilson (112’2”) in the discus.

Finishing fifth were Davion Jones

(11.48 sec.) in the 100m, Zion Sutton

(2:24.55) in the 800m, Joshua Smith

(5:38.41) in the 1,600m, Javonte’ Evans

(109’10”) in the discus and the 4x100m relay team (44.90 sec.)

Jaden McKelvin (8’) was sixth in the pole vault. Finishing seventh were Savion Love (38’) in the triple jump and Uriah Benefield (38’1”) in the shot put.

Recording eighth-place finishes were Savion Love in both the 110m hurdles

(19.11 sec.) and long jump (19’5”), and Javonte’ Evans (38’) in the shot put.

Logging ninth-place showings were Darius Lawence (56.40 sec.) in the

400m, Jaden McKelvin (57.05 sec.) in the 400m and Davion Jones (5’9”) in the high jump.

Finishing 10th were Da’Marion Zanders (57.66 sec.) in the 400m and Brock Payne (2:31.42) in the 800m. Jalondi O’Hara (11.72 sec.) placed 12th in the

100m.

Bryce Baldwin (18’9”)was 13th in the long jump. Placing 17th were Ja’Vonni Miller (26.92 sec.) in the 200m and Uriah Benefield (79’4.5”) in the discus. Teshaun Wilson (30’8”) finished 22nd in the shot put.
