Special to the WJH Ware County High School’s Class of 1985 has multiple events planned the weekend of June 6-8 to celebrate its 40th reunion.
The Georgia Lions Camp will be the center of the activities Friday-Saturday.
There will be a welcome social from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday, June 6 in the camp’s activities building. There will be light snacks, sandwiches and non-alcoholic beverages provided.
Golf at nearby Laura S. Walker State Park opens Saturday, June 7 events at 8 a.m. followed by a family day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the camp. There will again be snacks, sandwiches and drinks provided with plenty of outdoor games to go along with swimming.
The dinner-dance will be from 6:30 to 11 p.m. Cost is $40 per person for the Hawaiian Luauthemed evening with summer casual dress. There will be a disc jockey providing music and a photographer for individual pictures and the group shot.
Sunday, June 8 begins with the 11:30 a.m. worship at Destination Church, 2801 Ware Street, which is pastored by classmate Rodney Thrift. A farewell luncheon at 1:30 p.m. follows at Captain Joe’s Seafood, 2010 Plant Avenue.
