Mayor’s address on city’s state set May 8

Mayor Michael-Angelo James will present his annual State of the City address at noon, Thursday, May 8 at the C.C. McCray City Auditorium, 865 Pendleton Street.

The event is free and open to the public with doors opening at 11:30 a.m. The address also will be available to be viewed through alive stream on the city’s website and facebook platforms.

Mayor James will share insights into the city’s challenges and achievements of the past year, and present its vision for the near future.

He is in the second year of his second and final term in office.

Mayor James began delivering the annual address virtually via the city’s public access channel and internet outlets because of the coronavirus pandemic that hit after he first took office in January, 2020.

He began presenting his assessment of the city at the auditorium in May, 2023 and did so again last May.

He delivered last year’s address on the 150th day of 2024 — May 29 — in observance of the city’s 150th anniversary.

In addition to officials from city and Ware County government, those who serve the county in the Georgia Legislature as well as local business and civic leaders will be in attendance.

James
