Special to The Times ST. SIMONS ISLAND — Kadence Hale captured the St. Simons/SE Georgia Under Armour Junior Tour event here at the Sea Palms Golf Course.
Hale needed a suddendeath playoff Sunday, March 23 to beat Brunswick’s Mary West Turner after the two tied with a 43 in the Girls’ 12-14 age division.
“We kicked off our spring season with a bang and Sea Palms was in pristine condition,” said Director Frank Gasaway. “We had a great turnout with 65 players competing in seven divisions. With many first-time winners and personal best scores, including two sudden death playoffs in two of the girls’ divisions.”
Layla Thornton shot 51 to tie for third in the girls’ 9-11 age division with Scarlet Irby of St Simons Island.
Kash Corbitt finished one shot off the lead in the boys’ 6-8 division shooting 38.
