WAYCROSS — Mr. David Earl Perkins, 73 of Waycross, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at his residence.

Perkins was born in Screven. He is the son of the late George Lee Perkins and Annie Ruth Rowell Perkins.

Perkins settled in Waycross in 2012. He also lived in numerous places throughout his life.

Perkins worked in construction for the majority of his life and most recently worked as a Code Enforcement Officer in Brantley County. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing and trips to the mountains.

More than anything, he loved his family and cherished any moment he was able to spend with them.

Along with his parents, Perkins was preceded in death by his brother, William Perkins and his Miniature Schnauzer, “Sassy.”

Perkins is survived by his wife, Shirley Perkins of Waycross; four children, Cynthia Wilce (P.J.) of Martinez, Ga., David Perkins II (Nikki) of Beech Island, S.C., Sherry Rozier of Darien and Jamie Rozier of Waycross; five grandchildren, Madelyn Lanting (Joseph), Maisie Rish, Morgan Wilce, Brittany Rozier, Jasmine Anderson (Mark); 10 great grandchildren, Lennox Lanting, Liliana Poole, Sterling Poole, Stella Poole, Avery Griffin, Pierce Anderson, Daia Moore, Drayton Moore, Cienna Anderson, Celeste Anderson; three siblings, Bobby Perkins (Linda), Deloris Howard and Frankie Perkins (Marcia); and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025 in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel.
