Special to The Beacon NAHUNTA — Megan Moore has been named County Nurse Manager at the Brantley County Health Department.
Mrs. Moore is replacing Terra Wykstra, who is transitioning to the Ware County Health Department where she will serve in the County Nurse Manager role.
Moore has been an integral part of the Southeast Health District team for over eight years. She has served as a public health nurse and since 2022 as a Nurse Supervisor at the Brantley County Health Department.
“My career in public health has been nothing short of amazing,” Moore said. “It is a blessing to serve the members of our community who rely on us for a variety of services. My goal is to ensure that every person who walks through our doors leaves with a smile on their face and their needs met.
“I am excited to step into this new role and continue making a difference in Brantley County.”
Mrs. Wykstra began her journey with the Southeast Health District in 2016 as a public health nurse. In 2021, she took on the role of County Nurse Manager at the Brantley County Health Department making a lasting impact on the community.
With the retirement of now former Ware County Nurse Manager Gina Burke, Wykstra steps into the role in Ware County to continue serving in public health leadership.
“I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for the privilege of serving as the nurse manager in Brantley County,” said Mrs. Wykstra. “Working in the community where I grew up has been a true blessing. I am deeply thankful for the incredible community partners and the dedicated staff I had the joy of working with throughout my journey here. The patients I had the honor of serving will always hold a special place in my heart.”
