HOBOKEN — Samuel Eugene “Sammy” Floyd, 62, of Hoboken passed away Sunday evening, January 19, 2025, at Memorial Health in Savannah after a brief illness.
Floyd was born May 9, 1962, in Waycross to the late Talm adge and Mary Ruth Hickox Floyd, and lived here all his life.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; and his three children, Amy Corbett (husband David) of Blackshear, Sara Myrick (husband Jackie) of Blackshear and Gracie of Hoboken; six grandchildren, Blake Bishop (wife McKenzy) of Hortense, Sondra Myrick (Noah) of Atkinson, Mattie Myrick of Blackshear, Brantley Willis of Blackshear, Emma Myrick of Blackshear, and Bryce Willis of Blackshear; two great grandchildren, Bella Crews of Atkinson and Kambree Bishop of Hortense; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Tony Floyd (Susan) of Hoboken and Ricky Floyd (Vickie) of Hoboken; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, February 2 at Hoboken Baptist Church with Thomas Williams officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2 p.m. at the church.
