Charles Oden ‘Charlie’ Bowen, Jr.

WAYCROSS — Mr. Charles Oden “Charlie” Bowen, Jr., 80, died suddenly Friday, January 10, 2025 at his residence in Waycross after an extended

illness.

Bowen was born July 22, 1944, in Waycross to the late Charles Oden Bowen, Sr. and Alpha Ruby Thrift Bowen. He graduated from Waycross High School in 1962, and from the University of Georgia in 1967.

Bowen served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He retired as the owner and operator of Razz Bowen Super Service Station and was a member of Second Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Bowen also was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Frances Barefoot Bowen.

Survivors include three daughters, Jennifer Bagley (Jonathan) of Athens, Mary Beth Bowen of Savannah and Andrea Wilkinson (Jason) of Orlando, Fla.; grandchildren, Jesse Bagley, Lina Bowen, Brooks, Reed and Bowen Wilkinson; a sister, Mary Hoover of Fernandina, Fla.; and numerous other relatives.

A funeral service was held Saturday, January, 18 at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Oakland Cemetery with military rites.
