Pamela Durrance Davis

WAYCROSS — Pamela Durrance Davis, 54 of Waycross, died Sunday morning, December 29, 2024 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah after an extended illness.

Mrs. Davis was born in Blackshear to the late Clyde Durrance and Judy Owens Durrance and made Waycross her home for most of her life.

She was embarrassingly proud of her children from the moment we were born. At every opportunity, she said we were the best things she ever did in her life, so it's only fitting that we list ourselves as her greatest accomplishment, while knowing she led a life full of greatness outside of us.

We are forever grateful for her unconditional love and her unwavering belief in us. We are better people because we were privileged to learn from her.

No one held a candle to the one who made her Meme. She spent so much time with her throughout her life. Even when she was down she would light up because of Abigail.

She loved the beach, drawing, singing and her dog, Coco. For most of her career she worked as a printing operator, although we believe she could have made it as a standup comedian.

You could never just “run in to her.” She’d talk to you on aisle three in front of the dish soap until you stepped away. Add to that the fact she never met a stranger. A quick trip to the store could take hours, resulting in new friends, random Dollar Tree items, and her being happier because of it even though she didn’t remember to get what she went for in the first place.

Flowers may be sent to Miles-Odum Funeral Home, but she would have told you to do whatever makes you happy.

May we suggest saying “I love you” as often as possible, sing along loudly to music in your car, giving more than you have, being embarrassingly proud of people, and keeping her upbeat spirit with you always.

In addition to her father she is preceded in death by the love of her life, Robbie Davis.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her two children, Cassie Davis of Waycross and Davy Davis of Waycross; her granddaughter, Abigail Hersey of Waycross; her mother, Judy Durrance of Waycross; her brother, Donnie Durrance and wife, Patricia, of Waycross; sister friend, Brenda Waters of Waycross; special friend, Randy Edwards of Hoboken; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service was held Friday, January 3, 2025) in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial followed in Swamp Road Baptist Church Cemetery.

Sympathy may be expressed by signing online at www.milesodumfuneralhome. com Miles-Odum Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
