Valeria Annette Miller, 66, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2024.

She was born in Blackshear to the late Henry L. Miller and Annie Muriel Harris. She spent most of her life in Blackshear and was a 1976 graduate of Blackshear High School. She later received her associate’s degree from Waycross College. She as a former member of the Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Blackshear and later served at Kingdom Faith Church, Inc., also in Blackshear. Prior to her mother’s passing, she was her caregiver.

She was well known in the community for her “larger than life” personality and for being “the life of the party”.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheyenne Jacobs; her parents, Henry L. Miller, Annie Muriel Harris and John W. Harris; by two brothers, Henry “David” Miller and Michel L. Miller and a special aunt, Judy Berry.

Survivors included two daughters, Bridgette Jacobs Myers, Blackshear and Sissearetta Smith Members, Douglasville; her siblings, Charles Miller, Waycross, Samuel and Amy Miller, Portland, OR, Elder Harry and Evangelist Teresa Miller, St. Pauls, NC, Warren and Alicia Miller, Douglasville and Evangelist Jearnita and Apostle Eric Mathis, Waycross; a special niece, Kimberly Hightower, Blackshear; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held at noon Saturday, December 7, 2024, from the Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church, 2808 Piney Grove Church Road, Blackshear. The Rev. Brandon Elerby is the pastor and the Rev. Dr. Alonzo K. Scott officiated.

Elder Harry Miller offered prayer and Scripture readings were given by Apostle Eric Mathis and Evangelist Jearnita Miller-Mathis. Speakers included Bridgette Myers, Warren Miller, Charles Miller, Lauren Mitchell and Sissearetta Members.

Musical selections were rendered by Jerome Miller, soloist and members of the Miller Family Choir.

Active pallbearers were Rodrick Members Sr., Carlton Moore, Keith Moore, Steven Moore, Johnny Smith and Lance Smith.

Rainge Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Blackshear was in charge of arrangements.
