Pierce County Middle School’s swim teams finished second at the conference meet in Baxley and wrapped up the season with first-place finishes at Ware County Middle School.
The Lady Bears’ Lyla Brooker posted the lone individual win capturing the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 36.53 seconds. She had a runner-up finish in the 50-yard breastroke (45.35 sec.).
Brooker placed third in the 100-yard free style (1:14.01) and fourth in the 50-yard free (31.27 sec.).
Aly Yeomans finished second in the 100-yard free (1:11.22) as did Lily Gray Wright in the 200yard intermediate (3:37.88).
Yeomans placed third in the 50-yard breastroke (43.71 sec.). Charli Paszko also logged a third-place showing in the 200-yard free (3:12.28).
Sophia Cochran was fourth in the women's 50 Backstroke (41.6). Paszko recorded a fourth-place finish in the 50-yard fly (43.69).
The 200-yard medley relay team of Cochran, Yeomans, Brooker and Ella Davis placed third (2:39.89) with the team of Tenley White, Wright, Paszko and Malia White finishing fourth (2:51.86).
The 200-yard freestyle relay team Cochran, Ella Jones, Yeomans and Brooker placed third (2:16.85) with the team of Paszko, White, Malia White and Wright fourth (2:30.85).
For the Bears, Jax Coates recorded three second-place finishes in the he 200-yard intermediate (3:31.19), 200yard freestyle (3:01.93) and 50-yard breaststroke (45.35 sec.).
Hutson Streat finished second in 100yard free (1.13.6) with Cooper Davis second in the 50-yard fly (41.06 sec.).
Posting a third-place finish was Streat in the 50-yard breaststroke (43.23). Finishing fourth were Coates in the 100yard free (1:17.47), and Davis in both the 50-yard free (30.94 sec.) and 50-yard breaststroke (44.30 sec.)
The 200-yard medley relay team of Streat, Coates, Davis and Dow Walker placed second (2:46.04) with the 200yard freestyle relay of Coates, Streat, Davis and Walker also second (2:26.36).
Season finale
Pierce Middle closed out the season participating in the Ware Middle event at the YMCA.
Cooper Davis posted a time of 29.70 seconds in the 50-yard free; Lyla Brooker had a time of 40.25 seconds in the 50-yard fly; Lakota Davis recorded times 40.76 seconds in the 50-yard fly and 33.7 seconds in the 50-yard free; Madi Geary logged a time of 50.24 seconds in the 50-yard backstroke; Samaree Jernigan posted a time of 1:53.21 in the 100-yard free; Ella Jones recorded a time of 48.68 seconds in the 50-yard backstroke; Ashton Kicklighter had a time of 55.64 seconds in the 50-yard backstroke; Hutson Streat finished with a time of 42.16 seconds in the 50-yard breaststroke; Malia White finished with times of 35.96 seconds in the 50-yard free, 1:21.45 in the 100-yard free and 3:19.91 200-yard free; and Lily Gray Wright recorded a time of 1:35.89 in the 100yard IM.
