Retiring Clerk of Court Thomas Sauls was recognized for his 24 years of service to Pierce County. Sauls was first elected to the job in 2000 and will step down at the end of his sixth term Dec. 31. Sauls thanked the Pierce citizens for the honor of serving as clerk of court and pointed out Pierce County is “the best place on earth.” Sauls (right) is shown with County Chairman Neal Bennett (left), receiving a plaque commemorating his service.
