Ware County Board of Education members presented retiring Supt. Bert Smith with a gift and plaque during their meeting earlier this month. The session was the last for Smith, who’s tenure closes at the end of the month. The school system held a reception to honor Smith Tuesday, November 19 at the board offices. Surrounding Smith are (l-r) Vice Chair Barry Deas, Rusty Ganas, Toni Nelson, Brandi Waters, Karen Ethridge, Buster Thomas, and Chair Denton Dial. Dr. Lynn Barber, currently Assistant Superintendent, replaces Smith December 1.
