First season of PCHS volleyball comes to a close

Pierce County High School volleyball finished their inaugural season fourth in the area with a 22-16 win-loss record.

The team defeated Vidalia to qualify (26-24, 12-25, 15-10) but lost to Savannah Arts Academy  (10-25, 7-25) and Toombs (23-25, 19-25) when they traveled to Toombs County Saturday, October 15.

The girls had another loss against Davidson Fine Arts (25-21, 25-26,  25-18) when the team travelled to Augusta (Oct. 19).

The Bears lost in the first round of the GHSA playoffs by the score of three sets to none.

“It was a respectable first year,” said Coach Robbie Spires. “We showed a lot of development and improvement from start to finish.”
